First TOTAL WAR: WARHAMMER 3 DLC Announced, Launching With New Campaign

If you know about the Total War series or are a fan of the Warhammer universe, then you’ve probably been playing Total War: Warhammer 3, the culmination of Creative Assembly and SEGA’s Warhammer trilogy. It was previously announced that the upcoming Immortal Empires Campaign, a combination of all previous Total War: Warhammer maps and lords, will be released on August 23rd. It has now been revealed that the first DLC will launch alongside it! Champions of Chaos will bring 4 new legendary Chaos lords to the game, add a Chaos warrior-specific campaign, and come packed with a host of features (and monsters) to allow players to give praise to their favorite Chaos deity in a number of ways. This announcement showcases the first legendary lord, Azazel: Prince of Damnation. A daemon prince of Slaanesh (the Chaos god of excess, ecstasy, and debauchery) Azazel can seduce mortals to his side much more easily than others of his kind, allowing his Ecstatic Legions to turn their enemies into their friends.

This DLC includes a new campaign experience, the Path to Zanbaijin, in which the 4 Chaos lords fight to be the first to collect the huge amount of power and souls sealed within the Altar of Battle. Fight battles and collect souls to open rifts and gain the power and glory that awaits you. With the ability to improve each of your warriors with a brand new promotion tree, and epic “dark fortresses” to capture and subdue the other empires, this DLC will change the way Chaos factions play. Included with the DLC release is a free update for other Warriors of Chaos, updating the factions that have been stagnant since TW: Warhammer. Along with all these goodies, Blood for the Blood God III will release alongside Immortal Empires and Champions of Chaos, adding lovely rivers of bloody, executions, and limb removal to the epic war-strategy game. Owners of the previous versions will receive this gore pack for free.
