Gacha ARPG Giant GENSHIN IMPACT's Version 4.0 Is Nearly Here

The gacha RPG giant Genshin Impact will receive a new, sizable content update later this month. Hoyoverse's free-to-play giant reaches version 4.0 on August 16 and there will be a lot to explore.

A new region, Fontaine, will become accessible to players. The place is known as the Nation Of Justice and is a thriving center for the arts and culture. Underwater areas will feature prominently in the update, with certain waters in Fontaine open to explore new areas and lost mysteries consumed by the waves.

New content also means characters. Three new faces will grace the Genshin roster with the update, Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet. Not all the new faces are friendly however, the 4.0 update brings two never-before-seen bosses to go toe-to-toe with.

A teleport for Fontaine will unlock in the North-East of the Surmeru region if players have completed Mondstadt’s Archon Quest Prologue Act III: "Song of the Dragon and Freedom." Players can unlock the main Archon quests in Fontaine after completing the last Archon Quest "Caribert" in Sumeru.

Genshin Impact is an open-world action RPG set in the fantasy world of Teyvat and lets the player control a large cast of different characters, complete quests, and explore dungeons.

Genshin Impact is free-to-play, and available now for Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
