Gamescom 2021 Trailer For TANDEM: A TALE OF SHADOWS Shows Off Gameplay

It is interesting when a game gives the player control over more than one character and to do so with a puzzle game can end up being a bit confusing, if not done correctly. However, Monochrome and Hatinh Interactive took their moment at Gamescom 2021 to show off how they are implementing this into their upcoming title Tandem: A Tale of Shadows. Of course, I did my best to properly describe it in my first impression a couple of months ago, but nothing works quite like a gameplay trailer does.

Basically, in this game players will alternate between Emma’s top-down view and Fenton’s horizontal side-scroller view, using the former’s lantern to cast shadows the teddy bear can cross. In turn, the latter can activate switches that may be out of view. Of course, new chapters will introduce fans to new mechanics they must master if they hope to defeat the horrifying monstrosities that await them. As players sink into the five strange worlds, they’ll stitch together answers surrounding the vanishment of the Kane family and shed light on the title’s dauntless heroes.

Tandem: A Tale of Shadows is set to release on October 21st for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. After the short bit of this game I got through, I know I am looking forward to seeing how wild these puzzles get. Are you ready to start thinking from two different point-of-views?
