Intellivision recently released a new video entitled “Intellivision Amico Trailer 2021”, which is an appropriate name, given the subject matter. In fact, let’s start by reviewing the trailer:

The trailer starts with Tommy Tallarico talking about current generation games and how modern games focus on the “hard-core” gamer and how the Intellivision Amico’s focus will be on casual gamers and families.

Just looking at those numbers, the market for the Amico is telling. Now, I am somebody who has already preordered the Amico and I am usually engaged with the community surrounding it. That being said, I am looking forward to the release date.

Tommy then explains how people used to game with friends and family, who were all in the same room together. He then introduces the Amico and discusses the “fondest memories” of playing games together. He wants to return to those days where people are having fun together and talking; not over a headset or the internet, but in the same room, which brings back the traditional game night.

The screen then shifts to the acronym “SAFE,” which stands for SIMPLE FAMILY AFFORDABLE ENTERTAINMENT. Before transitioning to gameplay videos, Tommy says, “having fun, united again.”

Out of the games shown in the video, I am most excited for: Moon Patrol, Bi-Planes, Night Stalker, Finnigan Fox, Astrosmash, and Shark Shark. Out of those games listed, I still own the majority of the original Intellivision games. BurgerTime is another game, not shown in the video, but one I am looking forward to the most.

I said as much in my video:

The Intellivision Amico is set for release on October 10, 2021, and available for preorder at the Intellivision website!  Are you ready?
