Just after its release last month, SNK’s King of Fighters XV has found its way into the lineup for this year’s Evolution Championship Series (EVO) 2022. EVO, the world’s largest fighting game tournament, will bring King of Fighters XV to the main stage, bringing with it a roster of 39 fighters. Building on nearly three decades of history since the series debuted in 1994, this marks the first time since EVO 2017 that a King of Fighters game has made its way into the tournament’s lineup.
As for EVO itself, this year marks the return to an in-person tournament for the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic began. With many familiar names featuring across the tournament from games and players, EVO calls its participants and fans back to Las Vegas this August 5-7 to see the greatest fighting game players on the planet compete to see who takes home the trophy this year.
