MARVEL’S SPIDER-MAN 2 Swings Onto PlayStation In 2023

As if they hadn’t already wowed everyone with the surprise announcement of Marvel’s Wolverine, Insomniac Games followed that meteoric reveal with another showstopper: Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the sequel to both of their hit Spider-Man titles, is coming in 2023. Insomniac showed off a brief teaser trailer as part of the PlayStation Showcase 2021 that happened earlier today.

The trailer shows both Peter Parker and Miles Morales working together to take down criminals on the streets of New York. Speaking over their battle is a mysterious voice opining the lack of challenge he’s faced from any of his targets so far. Both Spider-Men finish up their skirmish and peer into the darkness of an alley just as the mysterious voice asks “Will one of you finally give me what I desire?” Something in the darkness responds with “Yes. We will.”

Lightning flashes and the face of notorious Spider-Man villain Venom is briefly illuminated. Spider-Man’s crest fades in over a black background, further suggesting the game will tackle the much-loved Black-Suit Spider-Man story arc. The trailer closes by showing the release window of 2023.

Insomniac Games has had a stellar year with PlayStation Studios, putting out both Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart and Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales in the past year alone. And they’re not resting on their laurels as this showcase has shown. Hopefully, we’ll see more from their games soon, and when we do you’ll find all your gaming coverage right here on GameTyrant.
