Crystal Dynamics has finally shown off its take on Marvel’s famous wall-crawler just a few weeks before his debut in Marvel’s Avengers. In an exclusive reveal over at IGN, Crystal Dynamics debuted the cinematic trailer for Spider-Man’s upcoming arrival to the game and the associated event that will be coming alongside him.
The trailer sees Spider-Man interrupting a group of A.I.M. soldiers as they attempt to round up a group of Inhumans. Spidey employs his trademark banter along with his web-shooters to take the villains down before being joined by the rest of the Avengers to fight off a large wave of reinforcements.
Crystal Dynamics’ take on Spider-Man will be the third gamers have seen in recent years, with Insomniac Studios putting out two, hit Spider-Man titles in Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. While Crystal’s version of the hero will be different from Insomniac’s, he will still be exclusive to the PlayStation version of Marvel’s Avengers.
Though Spider-Man swings his way into Marvel’s Avengers soon, little is known about how he’ll play or what his story event will entail. The name of the event is “With Great Power,” referencing Uncle Ben’s famous last words and potentially indicating a connection to Peter’s past.
Spider-Man joins Marvel’s Avengers on November 30th, 2021, and will be a free addition for all players on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
