With Phantasy Star Online 2 barely releasing in the states back in April of this year, its hard to remember that the game originally launched in Japan back in 2012. In the 8 years since the games original release graphics have come a long way and the game definitely shows its age in certain regards. Personally I still think it looks fine overall thanks to its stylized look. For everyone who doesn’t, have no fear for Sega has your back as today during the Xbox Games Showcase, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis was announced!
Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis looks to be a complete new overhaul to PSO2. As such, there is an entirely new area that looks larger than any found in the current game with loads of new enemies to face down! This expansion will also include a complete overhaul to the games graphics and systems to help modernize them a bit for the current age. PSO 2: New Genesis is slated to hit Xbox One and PC in North America sometime in 2021 and a Series X version of the game is also planned.
