The long-awaited English release of Phantasy Star Online 2 finally happened earlier this year for Xbox One after being announced at E3 2019. After a closed and open beta period, the game fully launched back in April for Xbox One with a Windows store release following a couple of months later. The PC launch didn’t quite live up to expectations with numerous players having issues with logging in and the game launcher bugging out which has still been happening to this day. As I type this my windows install has corrupted requiring a complete redownload…
Today though, PC players can maybe breathe a sigh of relief as PSO 2 is now available on Steam. The hope is that the Steam release will prove to be more stable than the one found on the Windows Store and accessible to more players who might use Steam exclusively. Today’s Steam release also marks the first time PSO 2 is going to be made available in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand across both PC and Xbox! To further hype the Steam release, the first major content update for the western version of PSO 2, Episode 4, is also available starting today! This new content has Arks players heading to Earth and from the trailer it looks pretty nuts.
This is a pretty big day for PSO 2 fans around the world and I don’t plan to miss out on the new content. See you online Arks!
