I am super excited today as Retro-Bit has begun to ship out their new Tribute 64 colors! The new colors for the Tribute 64 began as a fan vote to determine the next new color out of 7 possibilities, Classic Grey, Atomic Purple, Toxic Orange, Smoke Grey, Rose Quartz Pink, Stellar Yellow, and Sea Salt Ice Cream. When the response to voting exceeded expectations Retro-Bit decided that instead of one singular victor the top 3 choices would be the winners! The colors that received the most fan votes were Classic Grey, Atomic Purple, and Sea Salt Ice Cream!
I have eagerly anticipated the release of these new colors for a while since I championed for Sea Salt Ice Cream over on social media. The constant teases of the new colors have been both awesome and taunting as they have looked so good in the posts. Yesterday I finally got my set in and seeing them in person is way better than pictures! The new colors have turned out beautifully and I dare say better than the original offerings. Since my original tribute 64’s are launch day versions they don’t include any of the design updates that have appeared over the last year since release. These new color models however do include them and I am eager to see how they affect functionality! As such, I am planning to do a complete re-review of the Tribute 64 for these new colors so stay tuned to GT for that to drop in the coming days.
