Return To MONSTER HUNTER RISE In The Upcoming DLC SUNBREAK

Following a massively successful first year on the Nintendo Switch and now the PC, Capcom’s Monster Hunter Rise seeks to expand with its upcoming downloadable content (DLC), Sunbreak. The DLC will bring an entirely new story to the world of Monster Hunter Rise, adding new monsters, fresh additions to the combat system, and a fresh quest difficulty option in the form of Master Rank. In preparation for the launch this summer, powerful new armor sets and weapons have been added to the base game to help players progress.

The Sunbreak DLC takes place after the events of Monster Hunter Rise, where the defense and survival of Kamura Village have inspired the knight Dame Fiorayne to seek help in defending the Kingdom. Those who answer the call will make their way to Elgado Outpost, the home of the Laboratory – a beacon of monster research within the Kingdom, as well as the Command Post where players will find the people tasked with restoring peace to the Kingdom.

Players can expect to battle the threat to the Kingdom that comes in the form of the Three Lords: Garangolm, the Fanged Wyvern Lunagaron, and the Elder Dragon Malzeno. The trio is greatly inspired by Western horror and will have returning favorites such as Astalos, and Blood Orange Bishaten, bringing with them a fresh challenge in the Master Rank quest difficulty.

Pre-orders for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak are live today, and the full release will be coming on June 30, 2022, for both the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. Those looking to pre-order the DLC have the options of a digital-only standard edition, a special edition with bonus content such as armor sets, a combined Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak option, and a physical-only collector’s edition.
