REVIEW: HORIZON FORBIDDEN WEST Joins ZERO DAWN As One Of The Best PC Ports Available

In our original review, we gave Horizon Forbidden West a 9.5/10, please see that review for our full opinion that still stands today. This feature will focus solely on the PC-centric features and performance of the recently released PC port.

In a time where rushed, shoddy, and unoptimized PC ports run amok, Sony and their incredible PC porting teams, including Nixxes, are bucking that trend and making all the right decisions. WIth the recent PC Port of Horizon Forbidden West now at patch 1.1 level, there is no better time to dive into this incredibly gorgeous world with an overall fantastic PC port.

We have been playing the game on our RTX 4090 system but also tried an RTX 3080 laptop and regardless of what settings we used, the game looks absolutely stunning and runs smooth as butter. With the latest patch, things run even more optimized. The control as flexible between controllers, mouse and keyboard, or whatever you see fit. THIS is how PC ports should be done!

Especially for NVIDIA users, there are so many upscaling and quality options, tweaks, and nobs to play with, even on the lowest settings, you will still be in awe and the technical and artistic talent on display here from the wizards at Guerilla.

Horizon Zero Dawn’s PC Port is still stunning and absolutely worth picking up if you haven’t played it yet.

Whether you’ve played the previous game on console and/or PC, it doesn’t matter. Forbidden West is a stunner in every way imaginable. As stated in our original review, this is already a fantastic game and with this PC port and included DLC, IMHO, it’s the only way to experience this masterpiece.
