Roadmap For SWORDS OF GARGANTUA Shows Where VR Sword Fighting Is Heading In 2020

Despite it being less than a month since publisher Gumi announced that the realistic VR sword fighting game Swords of Gargantua by Yomuneco is coming to PSVR, they have yet another big announcement for 2020. It seems they have decided to make this their year as a roadmap for the game’s future has been released and it has everything you could have asked for coming up in it. As imaged above, the roadmap includes:

Spring

  • Mod Mode Alpha: Using the Mod.io platform, PC-based players will receive special access to modify in-game parameters, such as speed and strength, as well as create custom waves to challenge their fighting skills. (Quest coming later)

  • Lounge: A new area for up to 10 warriors to socialize after a long day of killing giants.

  • Tesseract Abyss PlayStation VR release: Now available on all major VR platforms, SWORDS of GARGANTUA

Summer

  • Player versus Player (PvP): DUELS of GARGANTUA beta test. Enter the online arena and take on other VR combatants.

  • Mod Mode customization: Import fan-made weapon and character models and utilize them in epic battles against the Gargantua. (Useable in Mod Mode only)

The biggest update coming to the game, by far, arrives in Fall; the new game mode “OOParts Labyrinth

This new game mode will let you work with up to four players to infiltrate the labyrinth and explore in a quest to collect the hidden Ooparts. Ooparts give you the means to fight off a brand-new boss and enemies. Survive the labyrinth with new ranged attacks like magic and bows in this new major update.

While this roadmap is merely a plan and is subject to change, I hope to see all of this implemented on schedule. It may only be planned to be on PCVR first, but the sooner they have the sooner these modes will reach the PSVR version as well!
