Some Great News For Handheld Gaming Fans Comes From The Nintendo Direct

During the broadcast of the Nintendo Direct some really good news for fans of the retro handheld gaming era was revealed. Nintendo announced the launch of a growing library for Game Boy games that will be added to the Nintendo Switch Online service. The launch will start with nine classic titles and there are more to come. In addition to this, the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion pack service will also receive a library of Game Boy Advance games, starting with six classic titles. 

At the launch of the Game Boy’s growing library of titles will start with these nine popular titles:

  • Tetris

  • Super Mario Land 2 - 6 Golden Coins

  • The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX

  • Gargoyle’s Quest, Game & Watch Gallery 3

  • Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare

  • Metroid II - Return of Samus

  • Wario Land 3

  • Kirby’s Dream Land

If those titles aren’t enough for you, and you are subscribed to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion pack, then you will also have these six Game Boy Advanced titles available as well:

  • Super Mario Advance 4

  • Super Mario Bros. 3

  • WarioWare Inc.

  • Mega Microgame$

  • Kuru Kuru Kururin

  • Mario Kart: Super Circuit

  • Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga

  • The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap.

Fans of the handheld consoles don’t have to worry about a short library either as those won’t be all the titles released. The libraries for both the Game Boy and the Game Boy Advanced will both have ever-expanding libraries.
