Sony announced earlier that it would be releasing a classic mini-console on their own. The PlayStation Classic is a mini version of the original PlayStation and will include 20 “generation-defining” games, which will consist of Final Fantasy VII and Tekken III.
The PlayStation Classic is set to arrive on December 3, which is the same day the original PlayStation launched back in 1994. The console’s design will remain the same, but it will be 45 percent smaller than the original, will feature an HDMI output port, and will include two replica controllers.
It’s not at all surprising that Sony is getting into the business of re-releasing consoles after the success Nintendo had with the NES Classic. The PlayStation Classic will be priced at $100 and will be pre-loaded with 20 games inside.
