Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse is coming to current gaming consoles on March 16th! The game’s publisher, Aspyr Media announced the news on the 18th following heavy speculation that we’d be seeing Stubbs yet again. It’s really great to see this cult-classic coming back into the hands of gamers after seemingly disappearing for years. While most older games returning these days see a makeover in either a remaster or a remake, Stubbs is different. Stubbs’ rise from the grave is being touted as a re-release. The game doesn’t feature any new graphics, mechanics, or anything that you’d come to know in a remake. It’s simply the game coming back to the scene, hopefully with a sequel in mind.
The game is only $19.99 and currently available for pre-order digitally for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. There’s also an awesome collector’s edition shipping in Fall of 2021 with a physical copy of the game. It’ll set gamers back $149.99 and includes a plethora of awesome goodies. I’m excited to check this game out as I missed out on it back in its heyday. I find this re-release extremely important because it opens up new avenues for titles to take so that they can continue to live on. Hopefully, we see more re-releases like this in the future!
