You read that right 3DS owners, Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon will be the last RPG entry on the system. Game Freak Director Shigeru Ohmori recently conducted an interview with IGN, stating;

"When we were making Pokemon X and Y, we really were trying to push the 3DS system to its absolute limits - which is what we thought we’d done. But when Sun and Moon came around, we completely redesigned the system, and actually ended up pushing the 3DS even further to what we thought was the most we could draw out of it."

You can check out the full interview here.

It seems like Game Freak will be focusing all their time on the recently announced Pokemon RPG title for the Switch. The 3DS had a fantastic run with Pokemon games and although this may be sad news for diehards, it’s also quite exciting to see what the legendary developer will bring to the series using the Switch’s advanced hardware.

Are you deeply saddened by this news? Or are you like me and think that it’s an exciting time to be a Trainer!?
