Indie studio Konitama and Spongebob Squarepants animator Chris Gottron has brought its action-adventure survival game Cloudscape to Kickstarter to fund that last part of its development. The Kickstarter will run until July 22, but has already passed its goal of $50,000 USD!

Cloudscape is heavily inspired by games like Zelda: A Link to the Past, Stardew Valley, and Animal Crossing. The game mixes action, exploration, survival, and social mechanics. You play as Kumo, a Cloudling who wakes up on the shores of a sunny deserted island. You will have to gather materials, build a shelter, craft weapons, and defeat monsters during the night cycles. You will also have to gather food, fish, mine, and harvest goods to eventually build a farm on the island. Your goal is to leave the island but to do that, you will have to go through monsters and trap infested dungeons. You will go up against crafted set pieces and procedurally generated environments. Keep exploring and finding ways to survive on every island you find with the goal of bringing them together. Every playthrough of Cloudscape is unique and every experience different.

If you would like to support Cloudscape check it out on Kickstarter. I will be paying close attention to this one through July to see how far past its goal it can climb! No release date has been set but the game is slated to appear on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
