Once again, Easy Day Studios is back with another free content update for their sandbox skateboarding title Skater XL. This time they are releasing a new map - Industrial Zone - and giving players the ability to modify the map for their personal preferences as well. To celebrate the launch of this new map and breakthrough map customization feature, they have the game on sale for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
With the new customization feature, players have the ability to customize the map by moving select elements like forklifts, barriers, and construction materials. The Industrial Zone map drop includes both a day and night version with dramatic lighting effects that create a compelling backdrop to film highlight-worthy video parts with the game’s replay editor.
The Industrial Zone was designed and created by Jean-Olive, who also created the ‘Streets’ map, which was included in Skater XL’s 2020 launch. As for the addition of interactive and moveable objects in the new map, it was a natural inclusion and offers a preview of the ‘DIY Map Editor’ coming soon to the game. It’s great to see the game continue to get new content and upgrades even a year after launch, especially since the base version of the game was well-received on its own.
