With Assassins Creed Shadows launching tomorrow, Digital Foundry already did a detailed review on the differences between the base PS5 and the Pro version of the game, but in a Twitter post about why PSSR was not used. In the reply, an Ubisoft employee replies with a hint that the game could get PSSR or FSR 4.
In our review, I mention the beauty of Assassins Creed Shadows, and while the game chose to use RTGI (Ray Traced Global Illumination), and there was no signs of PSSR.
The FSR 4 could be part of Sony’s strategy that they talked about earlier this month.
However, an exchange on the topic may have just hinted that perhaps an update to further push the Pro could be in the works (hopefully).
Nicolas Lopez is a technical artist at Ubisoft Montreal, and hopefully this could be a hint at implementation of AI-upscaling tech that could come at a futrue update.
I know I am excited at the idea of revisting the game when it does get the update.
