Intro and Gameplay
Everybody knows about Amerzone right? RIGHT?! No, maybe not. Originally launched in 1999, the current remake is the near-perfect example of how to turn old charming yet clunky adventure games into modern masterpieces. Yes, it’s that good. Now, I never got deep into the game back in ye olden times but I saw enough at my uncle’s place to know the game was already special. This 2025 version is absolutely magically and more than a fitting tribute to the late Benoît Sokal.
Yes, the heart and soul of the old adventure is here but with modern conveniences and incredible production values escalate the excitement, wonder, and, awe of the game.
Graphics and Audio
Jaw-dropping. Serene. Terrifying. Mysterious. Odd. Sublime. These are just a few of the emotions I felt exploring the environments and puzzle of Amerzone. If you have a killer PC, max this sucker out and ENJOY. This is technical art at its finest.
I loved the sound design here too with killer effects, weighty emotional tones, and the right amount of music to boot. This is eye and ear candy you do not want to miss and a labor of love from the devs that shines through.
Feedback and Verdict
Even if you don’t care for or have a legacy in adventure games, I have fond memories of the old adventure days thanks to my late uncle. This remake is a love letter to Sokal and his own legacy. We played it on PC and loved it despite some devilish puzzles for my burnt out noggin’. I normally don’t wax poetic in quick reviews but this one, this one is special.
Go in blind. Buy it. Play it. Love it.
