What’s New?
Disney Lorcana’s latest set, Archazia’s Island, brings exciting new mechanics, beloved characters, and a strong thematic focus that fans are sure to adore.
One of the most exciting additions is the introduction of a brand-new card type: Dual-Ink cards. Just as the name suggests, these are cards that feature two ink colors, meaning they can only be included in decks that use both of those colors. This adds a refreshing layer of strategy and deck-building nuance, rewarding players who enjoy crafting more complex, synergistic builds. From early impressions, Dual-Ink cards appear to be powerful, often acting as the heavy hitters in a match—but they demand thoughtful planning and execution.
Thematically, Archazia’s Island leans into a heartwarming and nostalgic motif: Disney pets. Fans of furry companions are in for a treat. From classic pups to modern favorites, this set is overflowing with loyal sidekicks. I was absolutely thrilled to see Bolt finally make his Lorcana debut—honestly, it’s about time! His inclusion, along with other canine icons, brings a playful and heartfelt charm to the set that balances beautifully with its mechanical depth.
What’s Available?
Archazia’s Island brings with it a variety of exciting products for collectors and players alike. Whether you're looking to build a competitive deck, expand your collection, or just enjoy the beautiful artwork, there's something here for every kind of Lorcana fan.
Booster Packs & Booster Boxes
As expected, Archazia’s Island offers traditional booster packs available in several formats: individually sleeved packs, booster boxes, or as part of the Illumineer’s Trove. For collectors chasing specific cards, sealed boosters remain one of the most accessible ways to discover new favorites—aside from buying singles, of course. Each booster is filled with the possibility of pulling rare foils, powerful Dual-Ink cards, or simply your favorite Disney characters with stunning new illustrations.
Illumineer’s Trove
The Illumineer’s Trove continues to be the most complete bundle for both new and veteran players. It includes 8 booster packs, beautifully designed card dividers, sparkly dice, and a lore counter. But what truly makes this Trove shine is the box itself—this set features some of the most gorgeous packaging we’ve seen so far. The vibrant art on the box is eye-catching and collectible, and I immediately repurposed mine into a storage box for my prized cards. It's a display piece as much as it is practical.
Single-Player Decks
The newly renamed single-player decks for Archazia’s Island are more than just starter kits—they’re thematically rich and surprisingly balanced. This time around, the decks are designed with a strong heroes vs. villains theme. The first is a Ruby/Sapphire deck featuring Belle and Beast, full of elegance and strength. The second is a Steel/Amethyst deck centered around Jafar and Iago—an intriguing pick, especially with the upcoming Reign of Jafar set on the horizon. I was a bit surprised to see Jafar featured here, but as a fan of Steel/Amethyst decks, I’m definitely not complaining. Both decks feel well-tuned out of the box and are actually quite playable without heavy modification, which is a welcome shift from previous starter decks that often needed immediate upgrades to feel competitive.
Accessories
Lorcana has always impressed with its accessories, but Archazia’s Island may feature the best batch yet. The artwork on the playmats is absolutely stunning, with two standout designs: “Tigger in the Crow’s Nest” and Big Hero 6’s “We Could Be Immortals.” These mats don’t just look good—they perfectly complement the card sleeves released alongside them. The sleeves continue the heroes and villains theme with two bold designs: a bright yellow set featuring Cinderella, and a darker, murky green set adorned with Ursula. I genuinely hit “Add to Cart” faster than I ever have before.
Lilo Gift Set
Looking for a perfect present for a Lorcana fan—or maybe just a fun treat for yourself? The Lilo Gift Set is a great option. It comes with an exclusive promo card, themed dividers, and a custom storage box with delightful Lilo-inspired design. The only downside, is that it includes four random booster packs rather than packs exclusively from Archazia’s Island, which is a bit of a missed opportunity. I personally would’ve preferred a guaranteed four Archazia packs, especially for those hoping to expand their collection from this set specifically.
Final Verdict: A Surprisingly Fast Favorite
I didn’t expect to jump ship from the Azurite Sea set so quickly—after all, that set had so many elements I loved—but Archazia’s Island completely won me over. From the charming Disney pet theme to the introduction of Dual-Ink cards, this set delivers both mechanically and emotionally. It feels fresh, fun, and thoughtfully put together.
If I had one small gripe, it would be the Lilo Gift Set. Don’t get me wrong—it’s adorable and makes a great display or gift, especially with the exclusive promo and themed storage box. But the inclusion of random booster packs rather than all Archazia’s Island boosters is a bit disappointing. For the price and theme, I really wish it offered a more focused pull from this incredible set. Personally, I’d recommend going with the Illumineer’s Trove instead. Not only does it come with eight guaranteed Archazia’s Island packs, but the box artwork and sparkly dice make it a collectible in its own right.
That said, there’s just one thing I’m really missing this time around—a new card binder. With how collectible and display-worthy this set is, a binder featuring the stunning Archazia’s Island art would’ve been the cherry on top.
Still, small nitpicks aside, Archazia’s Island has become one of my favorite Lorcana sets to date. It’s vibrant, thematic, and offers exciting gameplay innovations. Whether you're a casual fan or a competitive deck builder, this set is full of joy, strategy, and that unmistakable Disney magic.
