Capcom Has Announced An Absurdly Awesome Plug & Play Arcade Stick!

Capcom has just announced that it is getting in on the plug & play market with the release of their new Capcom Home Arcade! This thing is quite absurd to behold and I mean this in the best way possible. The whole unit is modeled on the Capcom logo and includes 2 full size 6 button control layouts (8 buttons with start and presumably coins included). The controls are competition class Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT sticks that feature 8-way GT-Y gates and buttons are OBSF making the Capcom Home Arcade a premium experience.

Koch Media today announces the Capcom Home Arcade, a uniquely designed plug and play home arcade machine - www.capcomhomearcade.com

The Capcom Home Arcade will come pre-installed with 16 arcade classics including of course the amazing Street Fighter II Turbo! All games featured on the unit are from the CPS1 and CPS2 with emulation being provided by the FB Alpha team. With the years of work FB Alpha has put into Capcom arcade emulation this is truly one solid outing! The full list of included games are as follows:

Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors

Street Fighter 2 Turbo

1944: The Loop Master

Alien vs. Predator

Armored Warriors

Capcom Sports Club

Captain Commando

Cyberbots

Eco Fighters

Final Fight

Progear

Giga Wing

Mega Man the Power Battle

Ghouls 'N Ghosts

Street Fighter 2: Hyper Fighting

Strider

All video output is handled by HDMI though no mention has been made yet about output resolution. Power will be supplied through a micro USB cable. The Capcom Home Arcade will also feature built in Wi-Fi for a global online leaderboard so players will be able to see how they stack up to the competition. Unfortunately, no word has been shared on if the unit will include any online multiplayer or future title additions that could easily be accomplished with built in Wi-Fi.

Due to the premium materials in play the Capcom Home Arcade is launching at a ridiculous price of €229.99 which translates to ~$288. Though I suppose an argument could be made that purchasing even just one of the original cabinets with these games could set you back much more. No price has been shared yet for the North American launch of the Capcom Home Arcade so this article will be updated accordingly once that happens. The Capcom Home Arcade will release this year on October 25 and pre-orders are open now for Europe.
