Channel Your Inner Keymaster With The Newly Announced GHOSTBUSTERS: SPIRITS UNLEASHED'S Trailer

The hype train is officially rolling with IllFonic’s announcement of their latest project, Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed. Have you ever wanted to team up with your friends and hunt for ghosts or better yet, hunt your friends as a ghost? Well, with this new 4v1 asymmetric hunt or haunt extravaganza, players will get to jump into the shoes of Ghostbusters of the dreaded Ghosts themselves and engage in a battle for the ages.

As a Ghostbuster, you and up to 3 friends will strap on your Proton Pack, grab your Ghost Traps and PKE Meters, and hunt down ghosts that are terrorizing your neighborhood. You’ll be able to blast them with streams from the iconic Particle Throwers and get them into your traps. Just don’t cross streams! You’ll be taking on these missions of civic duty from some of the original cast members as well such as Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) and Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd).

While playing as a Ghost, players will get the chance to scare citizens, teleport between rifts, possess nearby objects to sneak around, slime people, and even summon their own army of ghoulish minions. Being bad never felt so good. There are multiple Ghosts to play as, each having its own unique and differentiating abilities.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed also allows players to customize their Ghost and Ghostbusters by upgrading abilities and equipment. You can even test out your equipment in-between missions. If all that isn’t enough, the game is also completely cross-platform between its available console releases.

“Ghostbusters is one of the most beloved IPs in the world, so we are pulling out all the stops to make something special and accessible to this diverse fanbase,” said Charles Brungardt, CEO, IllFonic. “If you’re someone who loves the movies or asymmetrical multiplayer games, this was made for you.”

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed will launch on PC (via Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Though there currently is no set release date, the game is slated for Q4 of 2022.
