November was a month of uncertainty for the handling of both PlayStation Plus’ free games and Xbox’s Games With Gold. It felt that way mostly because of the release of the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X console, folks like myself didn’t know how these companies would approach it. Luckily, Sony has the PS Plus list for us now and it gives a decent roadmap of what we can expect at least through the end of the year. We have one PS5 exclusive game and 2 PS4 games.

It’s a pretty strong month of games and I think the inclusion of Bugsnax is really awesome. This is a game that’s piqued my interest but has me unsure of what it really is. Including it in PS Plus’ free games allows it to be accepted by a larger audience than it might be otherwise. They did the same thing a few months ago with Fall Guys and we all know how that went. I think history could repeat itself again. Because the PS5 is getting a brand new game at launch, it really lifts the expectations of what we should see from Xbox. The ball is in their court now.
