Rise of the Triad is a classic retro shooter, from the same era as Wolfenstein, Doom, and Blood. New Blood Interactive, Nightdive Studios, and original creators at Apogee Entertainment have revamped the classic first-person shooter in the form of Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition. The game boasts 4k graphics, endless framerates, new story levels, a restored soundtrack, and restored un-seen content!
Players will take the role of one of five H.U.N.T. operatives tasked with defeating a cult that has plans to destroy Los Angeles. The campaign includes five separate stories with new episodes and restored content from long-lost beta builds of the game. Utilize classic weapons like the MP-40, drunk missiles, dual-wield pistols, firebombs, and the magical excalibat to take on insane cultists. Take advantage of the level creator system to spice up the gameplay experience a bit thanks to the Steam Workshop support. There are three multiplayer modes as well such as the 11-player deathmatch, 1 vs. 10 Hunter mode, and capture the triad which is the very first capture the flag mode!
Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition will release on July 31st for PC via Steam and GOG with a console release date yet to be announced.
