Saona Studios and Hawthorn Games want to bring out the cute in Halloween with their side-scrolling adventure, Death or Treat. Play as Scary, an adventurous ghost that is on a mission to save the spirit of Halloween by helping HallowTown from being overrun by corpo thugs! The 2D action-roguelite comes with hack-and-slash gameplay and handpainted environments. Players will need to explore all the worlds and defeat hordes of enemies using various weapons and skills.

Death or Treat features a variety of weapons that will fit many playstyles whether you want fast, heavy, or ranged. Players will be able to collect hidden treasures along their journey to unlock new weapons and skills that will help make their run the best one yet.

Roguelites have been on the rise for the past few years and many adore this animation style aesthetic. It looks like Death or Treat is trying to appeal to a multitude of audiences and it might be worth looking into if your on the hunt for a new side-scroller.
