The Polymega Beta Units are starting to arrive with early testers and the impressions given so far have been positive! One of the Early testers is Modern Vintage Gamer who has made a name for himself in the retro scene by analyzing tech behind older consoles. He also ported a ton of emulators to the OG Xbox! MVG has released his early impressions video which you can see above that outlines many of the core features of the Polymega beta unit. Since this was a beta unit, the HLE BIOS for the CD based systems is still unfinished and MVG highlights a couple of the games that had issues. Thankfully official BIOS files can be sideloaded to counteract these issues.
One thing I found interesting was MVG stated the controller that comes with the base unit felt on the cheaper side. I got to go hands on with the Polymega controller back at E3 2019 and thought it felt great personally so I am scared now that the final design might have changed.
