Experience A Classic RPG With CHRONO CROSS: THE RADICAL DREAMER’S EDITION, Available Now

Gamers eager for a trip back to the halcyon days of the original PlayStation are in luck, as one of its most revered RPGs is back with a modern refresh. Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamer’s Edition is available now, bringing Square Enix’s classic sequel to modern consoles with updated graphics, music, and artwork along with a litany of combat improvements.

The game’s original artist, Nobuteru Yuuki, has returned to create new artwork for the remaster, including redesigns for many of the core characters. The new edition also comes with enhanced background music, rearrangements of seven tracks from the original game, and a brand new song, all of which were overseen by Chrono Cross’ original composer, Yasunori Mitsuda.

The Radical Dreamer’s Edition includes the text-based adventure, “RADICAL DREAMERS – Le Trésor Interdit –.” RADICAL DREAMERS, which serves as a prequel to Chrono Cross, was never released outside of Japan when it first debuted in 1996. The game’s plot mirrors sequences that would later appear in Chrono Cross, and Masato Kato, the lead writer for the game, has confirmed that the events of RADICAL DREAMERS exist as part of an alternate timeline.

Chrono Cross is the sequel to the beloved RPG Chrono Trigger, and it follows a young man named Serge as he discovers the existence of an alternate dimension. Serge embarks on a quest to determine the cause of the divide between these two worlds and along the way, is joined by a robust cast of over 40 party members, each with their own stories and proficiencies in combat.

Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamer’s Edition is available now for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
