Cinder Interactive Arts, the volunteer team behind the fan remake TimeSplitters Rewind, have released a development update demonstrating their current progress on the project. Rewind sets out to create an Unreal 4 remake of the original FPS trilogy which was published between 2000 and 2005.
While there has been a whole year’s gap between this release and the last devlog, the team has been working on plenty of things in the interim. Firstly you have a whole range of character models, including some fairly terrifying mummy models, one with only its teeth showing.
The video goes on to show some maps and game modes that are in development, with a working escort mission system, and functional turrets. These are shown alongside a soundtrack of the all-new music composed for Rewind.
The remake is now said to be in its completed form in terms of content, with only polishing and minor changes to address before the game’s release. The team at Cinder Interactive Arts did make it clear that they were eager for anyone who is interested in volunteering with the project to join in. The project is particularly in need of character artists.
TimeSplitters Rewind is set to release for PC, though a release date has yet to be announced.
