The news shouldn't come as a complete surprise, as the multiplayer experience seems to be the biggest selling point of the game, but it was never obvious as to whether you could play single player offline or not. Ubisoft initially promised closer to the announcement that the game would have some sort of offline mode, but it appears things have changed.
For Honor will launch on all major platforms Valentines Day (February 14th).
