Journey For Elysium is an upcoming VR title for Oculus and Vive that focuses on story driven content involving ancient mythology. Players assume the role of a nameless hero who has died and is now making their journey to the afterlife. To escape purgatory and reach Elysium the hero must overcome different puzzles and obstacles. In doing so you will get to learn more about this characters past!
The premise sounds really exciting and that this will be a VR game is even more intriguing. The team at Mantis Games has chronicled a variety of information about their journey to make Journey For Elysium. Their newest entry is dedicated to the art found within the title and how they drew their inspiration. Unsurprising many inspirations are drawn from Greek sources and religions. The look behind the curtain is very interesting and worth a watch, especially if you have any love of game development! Check it out below!
If you would like to learn more an additional companion piece is also available for reading. Journey For Elysium is planned for a late 2019 release on Steam for Oculus and Vive headsets. I am hoping that after the PC launch is successful a version might also be made for PSVR! Journey For Elysium is looking like one awesome adventure and I look forward to seeing how it turns out.
