One thing that I’ve always been a fan of is RGB. It made its big debut in just about every aspect of gaming life back when I was in my later years of high school. I would even go as far as to call myself an “RGB Girlie”, as I quickly adopted RGB-laden gaming peripherals and decor for my ever-changing gaming setup.

However, as the years went on, I found myself opting for less overzealous uses of the gimmick. Instead of bombastic gaming keyboards and controllers completely tricked out with rainbows bursting from them, tasteful hints of lighting blended perfectly with a more fashion-forward approach are what I’ve kept within reach.

So naturally, the teenage girl I once knew, who still lingers inside of me, jumped for joy when I learned that Lepro has been releasing some seriously cool lighting options that both satiate her taste for eye-catching hues while still playing to my more mature sensibilities. The TB2 AI Smart Table Lamp is an exciting little piece of tech that actually left me pretty impressed.

Aesthetics

Though Lepro offers many options from their line of AI fixtures, such as floor lamps, hanging lights, and wall decor, I chose one of their sculpture-like table lamp designs. The shape of its Treble Clef-design allows for the hues of light that it produces to magically flow across it as if the light itself is a sonnet all its own.

As far as lighting is concerned, this is a truly vibrant piece. There’s not a single dead zone across the entire thing, and I often find myself staring off at it, daydreaming.

The way the lights change allows them to flow effortlessly from one color to the next in a clean sweeping motion. Changes to lighting via music or your television are spot-on, allowing for more immersive and reactive lighting. It’s not an option I typically use, as I’m more focused on setting up vibrant color schemes to run daily via the downloadable Lepro app.

Functionality

It’s a very easy-to-use lamp, once you plug it in and download the Lepro app. The lamp automatically goes into its default Bluetooth mode until your phone connects to it. From there, users have the chance to choose from a wide range of different functions. There are a plethora of preset color schemes that Lepro has already integrated into the app for easy use, but creating one’s own profiles is as easy as pie. The color choices are nearly limitless, and functions are labeled neatly so as not to confuse users.

A cool function is the ability to create a custom color profile by uploading a photo. It scans it, and finds a color scheme that allows you to see that memory come to life. Additionally, through its AI voice features, you can simply tell it to set up a profile using your vocal prompts. These are some ways of using AI that I feel are a bit more ethical than most lately, so I can appreciate their usefulness without guilt.

If you’re unable to use a smartphone with the TB2, then have no fear; as once the lamp gives up on its Bluetooth search, it defaults to a generic rainbow swirl. It’s not the most ideal situation, but at least the lamp isn’t useless at that point.

Though I’d like to say that it is, this lamp is not perfect. As someone who likes to dim her RGB at night, I found the TB2 to be extremely lackluster at doing so. When bright, my beautiful blue/pink/white color scheme shines bright like the sun, but once I dim it down, it becomes a dingy red/yellow/blue mess.

Honestly, if I had boughten this myself, I’d probably be pretty bummed that the colors drains out when it’s dimmed. It’s not a deal-breaker, but seriously something worth considering if you’re looking for consistency.

Verdict

Lepro is seriously onto something cool with products like the TB2 AI Smart Table Lamp. Because of its very intuitive app, the features the lamp is capable of, and the vibrant light show that the lamp is able to emit when at full brightness, this truly is a gaming setup showpiece. If you can overlook its shortcomings in the nightlight category, then this is a surefire way to please you and the kid at heart.
