Help Advance Medical Research With The New “Borderlands Science” Mini-Game In BORDERLANDS 3

Borderlands 3 players can help advance research in biomedicine, and receive cool new in-game rewards just by playing. Next time you’re aboard Sanctuary III, make your way over to Tannis’ infirmary to find the brand new “Borderlands Science” arcade machine containing a brand new puzzle mini-game. The simple block puzzles are based on strands of DNA. When players solve these puzzles, they are helping map and compare the microbes contained in the strands of DNA, while at the same time earning in-game rewards.

The rewards players receive after solving these puzzles include in-game currency that players can spend on unique Heads and Skins, as well as timed boosters for stats, loot quality, and exp gain. Borderlands Science was created because computers aren’t always 100% right when it comes to organizing data, and make a bunch of small mistakes that can corrupt the analysis, whereas “Borderlands Science” is easy to understand and play.

The mini-game was developed in conjunction with McGill University, Massively Multiplayer Online Science, and The Microsetta Initiative. If you want to learn more about the science in “Borderlands Science”, you can visit dnapuzzles.org.
