Byte Barrel has recently announced the full release of their dark retro FPS title, Forgive Me Father. Currently available on early access, Forgive Me Father is an adrenaline-fueled Lovecraftian retro shooter with a comic book art style. We suggest checking out our First Impression to give you an idea of what you can expect for the full release.
1C Entertainment and Byte Barrel are bringing over 50% more levels to the final build of the game and allowing players to play as two main characters. Players can take the role of either a priest or a journalist in the dark evil ridden world and observe the story from each of their perspectives.
The new journalist character will also include their own skill tree to progress through the game and unlock upgraded weapons to help you plow through the undead. Hopefully, the new character feels distinct and fresh compared to the priest. This will give the game a great sense of replayability.
The story and amount of content were the only concerns that we had for the early access build of Forgive Me Father. The gameplay is solid and will absolutely satisfy your “retro-shooter itch.”
Keep an eye on our full review when Forgive Me Father leaves early access and launches on PC via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store on April 7th.
