11Bit Studios have announced the arrival of Digital Sun’s rogue-lite RPG Moonlighter to new platforms, ones that will be of particular interest to subscribers of the streaming service, Netflix. A mobile version of the ARPG-shop simulator will be available for subscribers to play as well.
What do players new to the game have to look forward to? Moonlighter is a game of two halves, following a hero who is not quite adventuring at a level that he can afford to quit his day job. Players will spend the daytimes running a small shop in an out-of-the-way town, pricing up items to sell to the customers and boosting money reserves to fund the protagonist’s true passion: adventuring into the mysterious dungeons at the town’s edge. When night falls, the hero takes up his sword and ventures into the depths, hoping to advance further down, and not meet with some sticky fate along the way.
Returning to the shop in the morning, the sleep-deprived would-be hero can upgrade their equipment to try and make it further along into the dungeon that night.
The new mobile version is available for free to Netflix subscribers on iOS and Android.
Original versions of Moonlighter are available on Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC via various platforms, such as Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store.
