During this time that many of us are looking for a way to kill time while being stuck at home, it’s nice when there are some free options available for us. We mentioned the top 3 free games a few days back, but let’s not forget about upcoming titles. Indie publisher HeadUp is one of the teams offering a few free demos for us to try out on Steam today, two of which are available now if you enjoy and one is a title planning to launch later this year.
The first game I want to mention is one I recently found myself and did a first impression on the demo already. This title is Pumpkin Jack by a solo indie developer Nicolas Meyssonnier. Playing this game’s demo felt a lot like playing the demo for Medieval Remaster, meaning that it is only one level long but it shows exactly what you can expect. Being inspired by classic titles, such as Medieval, is very prevalent when experiencing this demo. We can expect this title to fully launch sometime in Q4 2020.
The other two games are both available now, so if you enjoy the demo you are able to grab the full game following your playthrough. These two titles are Slime-san by Fabraz and The Textorcist by MorbidWare. Although offering completely different gameplay styles, where Slime-san is a platformer and Textorcist is a bullet hell, both of these titles are pixel-art action games that are worth trying if you like either of those game genres.
It’s nice to have so many free options available to kill some time and take a break from attempting to perfect our skills on the titles we put too much time into. If you decide to only try one game here, I highly recommend checking out Pumpkin Jack, but all three titles are interesting in their own way.
