Microsoft Confirms That HALO: INFINITE Is HALO 6

Microsoft has been adamant for years that they wanted to drop the numbered label in Halo games. However, a few fans were still confused when the publisher revealed Halo: Infinite at E3 and not Halo 6. Fans were not sure whether this game is a prequel, a spin-off or a proper entry in the main series. To clear up the confusion, Jeff Easterling from 343 Industries has spoken to make it clear that Halo: Infinite = Halo 6.

“It is Halo 6, Easterling cleared up in a Mixer broadcast (via Gamespot). “You should just consider it Halo 6. Don’t think of it as a weird prequel kind of thing. It’s the next story. It’s the next chapter in what is going on.”

This is not the first time the developers of Halo tried to clear up the confusion as studio head Chris Lee already mentioned that Halo: Infinite will continue the events of 2015’s Halo 5: Guardians. Moreover, 343 also revealed that although Halo 5 revolved around on both Master Chief and Agent Locke, Infinite will primarily focus on Master Chief.

Halo: Infinite still doesn’t have a release date at the moment but is expected to release on the Windows PC and Xbox One.
