Another day and another Nintendo Switch hardware revision rumor has surfaced. It wasn’t that long ago that we first began hearing rumors that Nintendo was planning to release 2 new versions of the Nintendo Switch. One would focus on capturing the handheld market and the second being a more powerful hardware revision to help offset the power differences between Switch and hardware from the likes of Microsoft and Sony. Unless you have been completely not paying attention, chances are you know that Nintendo did indeed release the portable focused Nintendo Switch Lite this past September. No info regarding the rumored 2nd model was ever revealed.
Now according to DigiTimes, Nintendo is anticipating launching another new Switch model by mid-2020. Considering Nintendo has already revamped its original Switch models with the new Mariko variant and the Nintendo Switch Lite has been released, could this be the new higher-powered model we began hearing about last year? A mid-2020 launch would be here just in time for an E3 time period release allowing Nintendo to grab some additional hype before the holiday season release of the PS5 and Xbox Series X. As with all rumors though, take this info, and lack thereof, with a grain of salt until Nintendo makes an official announcement.
