A while back I reported on the news that the Nintendo Switch had overtaken the lifetime sales of the Base PS4 console in Japan. Today the little hybrid that could has finally managed to steal the crown completely away from it more powerful rival by overtaking the combined sales of both base and pro PS4 models. AS of this writing sales of the Switch in Japan have hit 8,125,637 units vs the combined sales of base and pro model PS4’s at 8,077,758. The Switch has proven to be a huge hit in every market worldwide but especially so in Japan where mobile gaming has been a massive seller. This is yet another impressive milestone that the Switch has hit as its momentum seemingly continues to go up each year. Soon we can expect to hear more on the supposed redesigns that should further spur growth for Nintendo’s mobile powerhouse!
