Nintendo Will Ship 10 Million More Switch Consoles Before March 2018

Nintendo is expected to ship around 10 million consoles before the end of the fiscal year. That means we will see about 10 million consoles in stores before March 2018. For the consumer, this is obviously better than nothing, but if the Switch continues to sell in the manner it has in its first month, it will be very hard to lock down a console if you're not putting in some effort to get one. For Nintendo (who broke their own first-month expectations for the Nintendo Switch by 40%), if the Switch manages to remain strong in sales and all 10 million consoles sell out it will have surpassed the lifetime sales of the Wii-U in its four years on the market.

What's the likelihood of that happening? With the instant sellouts in the first month and gamers rushing to retailers in anticipation of Friday's second wave, it seems like a pretty safe bet. Mind you this is all happening months removed from the typical console launch in November, and if Nintendo won't have to compete with Scorpio this holiday season...expect them to win big in the late half of the year. Are you rooting for Nintendo or do you think the Switch is overrated?
