Quirky Adventure Game EASTWARD Out On Xbox

Stardew Valley publisher Chucklefish has announced that their story-rich adventure RPG Eastward has officially made the jump to Xbox, following its success on PC and Nintendo Switch.

The brainchild of Shanghai-based developer Pixpil, Eastward follows the story of John and Sam, a hardworking miner and a mysterious girl, whose world is in serious trouble. Set in the near future, the human population is dropping steeply, and poison is spreading across the land, ruining everything it touches. Most of the survivors live out their lives in underground villages, with little hope of roaming the surface. Fate has something different in store for Sam and John.

Players get to explore the post-apocalyptic continent, traveling via the cross-country railway and exploring the wonders and dangers of the world above. There are monsters to fight, and many different weapons to help with the effort, as well as Sam’s strange abilities that can be used to stun foes.

Puzzles along the way can be conquered by making use of the two-character mechanics, switching between John and Sam to make the most of the team strategy. There are lots of other quirky characters to meet along the way as well.

Eastward is available now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play it for free, now.
