RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 May Be Getting VR Support

For the past few weeks, data miners have been tirelessly sifting through Red Dead Redemption 2’s companion app files, which led to several discoveries about what Rockstar Games has in store for the game in the future. Among the findings is the possibility that Red Dead Redemption 2 may be getting a VR support in the future.

Data miners revealed that there were multiple mentions of “Oculus” buried in the files of the companion app, which would suggest that Rockstar may be planning to include VR support soon. This piece of information also confirms previous leaks of a PC version happening in the future. Of course, a PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 is more than likely to happen and is only a question of when, but developer Rockstar Games is still yet to confirm the rumors.

While Rockstar is not really known for delving into virtual reality, Red Dead Redemption 2’s vast open-world environment and its ability to seamlessly switch from third to first person view make it a perfect game to play in VR. If these rumors were true, we just hope that Rockstar Games would also include PSVR support for players who own a copy of the PlayStation 4 version of the game.
