RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE Release Date Announced For May 2021

Alongside giving an official release date for the eighth installment to the Resident Evil series, Capcom has announced some details that confirm rumors and bring potential players to light on what they can expect from Resident Evil Village. Before getting into the details of the game, it is worth mentioning that they are going to include current-gen consoles into the releasing platforms and so we will see this title launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well as the already announced PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.

In Village, the story of Biohazard’s main character, Ethan Winters, is continued and the return of many beloved aspects of previous titles in the series are returning. Above you can see more details to the story and some glimpses of gameplay in their latest trailer, which show off enemies wielding swords and interesting bosses. Probably most exciting is that players will now be able to purchase and sell items, buy recipes for crafting, and customize weapons with a merchant dubbed “The Duke.” Using materials found throughout the game, they will be able to craft invaluable consumables needed to survive the terrors of the village.

If this is a game you are looking forward to and are one of the lucky ones to have claimed your own PlayStation 5, then you can get an exclusive sneak peek of the castle area from Resident Evil Village with the Maiden demo. Bear in mind that this stand-alone experience is separate, but showcases the stunning visuals and 3D Audio that await in the main game.

Other than announcements regarding the main game, it seems they are continuing the idea of giving a multiplayer experience to those who purchase their main games. Just as we got Resident Evil Resistance with the purchase of Resident Evil 3 Remake, those who snag a copy of Resident Evil Village will be given the player-vs-player multiplayer game called Resident Evil Re:Verse. It is a bit self-explanatory, so check out the trailer below to see what it’s all about.
