Shigeru Miyamoto has stated officially that Mario is 24 years old. The news comes from Ars Technica who cited an old Miyamoto interview discussing the lack of detail attributed to Mario's character...
"I think it was fortuitous that we didn't put any restrictions on Mario as a character," he said in the footage. "Normally when you create a character and present him to the world, all the details get filed in: what's his favorite color? what kind of food does he like to eat? But aside from the fact that he's about 24-25 years old, we didn't define anything else."
This interview was from 2005 so fast forward 10 years would he be 36? If we go off when Mario Bros debuted in arcades he's only 33...so is Mario forever mid-twenties? That's a pretty bitchin mustache for a young buck!
