SOUL CALIBER Turns 20 And For Some Reason Releases A Pachinko Machine

Here's a scenario for you. You own the rights to a fighting franchise that in a world of Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, has forged it's own path and held a dominate fanbase since the arcade era of the mid 90's. Your 20th anniversary arrives, and you don't have a release past or present available on current gen machines...so what do you do?

If you answered "release a Pachinko machine" we're just as confused by your decision as we are Bandai Namco's.

For reasons literally no one can understand, Bandai Namco has opted to hit the Japanese gaming parlor market as opposed to their long time fans to really ring in 20 years of Soul Caliber

It's a real kick in the teeth to guys like me who sunk around 50+ hours on Soul Caliber 2 alone without even going into the numerous sequels that followed. How does the franchise that was innovative enough to bring Link, Spawn, Heihachi, Darth Vader and Yoda not have the business acumen to think "maybe we should make a past game available on PS4 and Xbox One,"?

I lied when I said Bandai Namco only released a Pachinko machine, they also gave us this video which will only fuel your rage and make you wonder why they didn't just do the thing everyone wanted.
