A preview weekend for Moonbreaker will start today and end September 11th, with another preview weekend following on September 16th-18th. Coming off the back of their playable demo at Gamescom this year, these weekends will be the first chance for players to experience the full game ahead of its early access release later this month.
Developed by the creators of Subnautica, Unknown Worlds, and published by KRAFTON, Inc., the primary reason for these playtest weekends is to stress test the servers., so connection interruptions and maintenance at certain points during the period. Dates and times of the weekends may also change, with Krafton promising to notify players as best they can in advance should this occur. Players are encouraged to stream the game and share clips of their playing experiences.
Moonbreaker is a departure for Unkown Worlds, and not just in terms of location. It is a turn-based strategy game set within a sci-fi universe created by the fantasy author Brandon Sanderson. Taking inspiration from tabletop miniatures in its design, the focus of Moonbreaker is on leading your units in combat - either on or offline - and expanding and customizing them to your heart’s content.
To sign up for the preview weekend, just head to the game page on Steam and click the “Request Access“ option. Some in-game systems and options such as the store will be disabled for the playtest, and whilst you will have instant access to the Units and Captains, these will need to be unlocked once the game enters early access on September 29th. All progress made during the playtest period will also be deleted once finished, although paint jobs will carry over into the early access phase.
