The Analogue Pocket is described as a “multi-video-game-system portable handheld.” Almost 3000 Game Boy games can be played on this beautiful homage to retro games. And that’s not counting the cartridges from other handheld systems that can be played with adapters. Analogue left no stone unturned. No doubt, this is a modern device crafted with intention. Analogue has a history of developing fantastic products, and it looks like the upcoming Pocket is one of their best builds yet. The spec list is robust, and it proves just how much you can do with the fully-loaded handheld. The engineering on this thing is impressive.
Want to play on the big screen and show off the new hardware to your friends? Here’s what the company wants you to know about the Analogue Dock:
Play your Pocket on the big screen. Put your Pocket into Dock and it outputs directly to your HDTV. Sync up any wireless 8BitDo Bluetooth controller directly to Dock for wireless play. You can also connect controllers directly via wired USB, too.
But this finely-tuned machine doesn’t just play games. It boasts a “digital audio workstation with a built-in synthesizer and sequencer.” So you can make music when you’re taking a break from scratching that nostalgia itch.
The Analogue Pocket will ship in 2020 for $199. But many will find that a reasonable price for this tribute to retro gaming.
