In just a few days, the remastered versions of the cult classic Turok, released in 1997, and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, released in 1998, will be launched digitally on the Xbox One on March 2 for a price of $19.99 each. The announcement was made via a tweet from the game’s developer Nightdive Studios.
Turok was a first person shooter originally released for the Nintendo 64 and PC back in the late 90’s. The game revolves around the titular character of Turok, who is on a mission to take down dinosaurs and aliens after being placed on a different dimension.
This isn’t the first time that the game received a remaster as these improved editions of both Turok 1 & 2 was previously released for the PC back in 2015 and 2017 respectively. However, this new remaster is definitely a treat for fans who have much nostalgia for the Turok series.
As for the inevitable question of whether these remastered versions will be coming to the ever so popular Nintendo Switch, the developer only said that they have no news on that, “but it would be cool!” At least they didn’t close the door for a Switch version completely.
In terms of other projects, Nightdive Studios is also working on a full remake of the first System Shock game. However, it has been announced that the team behind the System Shock remake will be going on a hiatus to realign the development of the game and focus on what matters most. You can check out the details on that here.
