Ubisoft will be showing some progression with it's latest work on Watch Dogs 2. Eurogamer tells us that you will not be required to scale high up areas in San Francisco to be able to progress further in the game. Creative Director Jonathan Morin gets more specific...
"It's not a game where you open your map and everything's there...There are no towers. You just explore the world."
This is to say that free roam is a major part of Watch Dogs 2. Players will rely on gaining other "followers" to their Deadsec hacking group to unlock more missions and such, so it's vital that the map be unlocked from the start for them to start finding more people to join their group. \
It's a step in the right direction, but I still have my reservations when it comes to the Watchdogs series. Despite their best efforts to pull me in by playing N.E.R.D's "Spazz" every 10 minutes on the E3 show floor I kept my blinders on that this is the same series that launched with a game breaking bug not too long ago. Don't get me wrong I'm rooting for them, I'm just not ready to worship the ground they walk on prior to release.
